The National Library (The Black Diamond), Copenhagen
The Black Diamond was built in 1997 as part of the Royal Library. Spændbeton supplied the vertical post-tensioning for this project using rods and cables to achieve the desired stability.
Located in Ørestad, the College dorm rooms face the outside of the circle, while the common rooms face the courtyard. The large overhangs of the "boxes" were only possible because of the post-tensioned steel hanging boxes on the facade which apply the forces to the foundation within the works.
Concrete Wind Turbine Gravity Bases
Vertical post-tensioning was carried out by Spændbeton on a group of 84-metre high concrete wind turbine bases using 9-15 and 5-15/1-15 tendons.
