After purchasing a 50% share in Spiroll, three years ago, CCL has completed the deal by acquiring the remaining half of the hollowcore production systems specialist.
The move is another significant milestone in CCL’s development strategy which will enhance the company’s global precast capabilities while at the same time allowing Spiroll to draw on CCL’s international presence and resources to continue its growth and development.
Since the 1960s Spiroll has been providing solutions for precast including hollowcore manufacturing systems, consultancy and total solutions for new start-ups and established manufacturers.
In 2013 the first phase of the acquisition enabled Spiroll to acquire Canadian-based competitor, Dynacore. The combination of Spiroll’s technology and the expertise of Dynacore resulted in the launch of the new Vortex extruder earlier this year.
Spiroll has continued to invest in new manufacturing and IT systems in order to enhance its production management and stockholding capabilities, and has increased its business development and engineering resources.
“CCL’s initial investment in Spiroll has generated significant growth for the company,” explains general manager Paul Tate. “Customers can still expect our high levels of technical support, project management and advanced equipment but we now also expect to extend our international reach still further and build on our turnkey offering with a bigger team across a wider geographical area.”
