The recent fib 2010 International Congress and Exhibition held in conjunction with the PCI Annual Convention, attracted a wide range of visitors from around the globe. Industry professionals and clients from Europe, Asia, South America, the Far East and the USA visited the CCL exhibition stand where representatives of the company provided information on new developments and details of the wide range of services offered. Visitors were able to review a selection of projects from CCL’s extensive portfolio and discuss forthcoming ventures.
CCL Chief Executive Officer, Guy Tabet, commented ‘Despite the current economic climate, the interest of the construction world in fib is increasing, and the prestressed concrete business remains in good health.’
The event was held at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, which is part of the new 300 acre National Harbor waterfront development on the shores of the Potomac River. Including hotels, condominiums, retail outlets, restaurants and a marina, National Harbor was developed within the space of five years and opened in the Spring of 2008. CCL post-tensioning systems were used in National Harbor Buildings B and D and the Company supplied 1100 tons of bonded and unbonded post-tensioning systems for the Gaylord Convention Centre itself.
During the exhibition CCL celebrated its 75th anniversary. The Company was established in 1935 and, having remained faithful to its guiding principles of innovation and expertise throughout its history, is today recognised as a world-class supplier of pre-tensioned and post-tensioned technologies.
