Brick Studios is a 16-story office complex that required strategic structural planning to optimise its design. CCL was tasked with implementing vertical post-tensioning using CCL XV tendons and active CCL XM anchors, including the installation, tensioning, and grouting of 4 tons of strands, to enhance the building’s performance and sustainability.
CHALLENGE
Integrating post-tensioning with the precast slabs and walls of the small office complex presented a challenge. Although the building had lighter loads due to its size, the design needed adjustments to simplify site operations
and address logistical issues. Ensuring that the slender design remained structurally sound while accommodating practical construction constraints was essential.
SOLUTION
CCL’s solution used a post-tensioned core to manage
wind loads, allowing thinner walls, fewer connectors, and simplified construction. This reduced transport and crane loads, improving site efficiency. The system integrated smoothly with precast elements, meeting structural and logistical demands.
