This iconic project, situated in the prestigious Katara Cultural Village in Qatar, features a stunning array of interior decorative elements meticulously crafted from Ultra-High-Performance Concrete (UHPC).
The scope of work includes the design, manufacture, and installation of complex UHPC decorative elements. These include elegantly detailed columns and arches, a distinctive rhombus-shaped curved false ceiling, and faceted walls and ceilings. Each element has been carefully engineered to create a seamless blend of modern design with cultural and architectural heritage.
The UHPC cladding system employed for this project is a fully bespoke design, tailored to meet the precise requirements of the interior architecture. The panels incorporate coordinated reservations to seamlessly accommodate critical building systems, including windows, indirect lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, sound systems, and fire safety features. This integration ensures a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetics.
Due to logistical and size constraints, the maximum panel dimensions were limited to 2.4 meters by 2.4 meters. To achieve the desired coverage and design complexity, individual panels were skilfully connected onsite, forming a cohesive cladding system with a total area of 18,000 m².
