Denmark’s tallest residential tower, Lighthouse, standing at 142 metres tall, provides 400 homes in a unique waterfront location at the tip of Århus Island, providing first-class views of the city, the bay, and the forest.
CCL’s objective was to reduce slab thickness, reduce the number of piles, and reduce deflection as the façade requirement was strict.
The company designed a post-tensioned solution which answered these requirements, reducing slab thickness from 400 mm to 200 mm, as well as supervising the installation on site.
Each level of this 142-metre-tall tower was executed in 6 days. Premanufactured post-tensioning tendons at CCL’s factory sped up the installation significantly, and the supply for 6 levels in each shipment reduced the storage demands on site.
An estimated 1.200 tonnes of CO2 was saved compared to the original design with 400 mm thick slabs.
