OLYMPIC RESORT, LIMASSOL, CYPRUS

Currently, under construction, Olympic Resort is a luxury resort in Limassol, positioned along the stylish Seaside Promenade on the east of the city.

A 29-storey tower will form the centrepiece of the resort and will include 150 apartments overlooking the Mediterranean in this hotel-style residential building. The resort’s five-star services will include indoor and outdoor pools, a wellness spa, a fitness centre, restaurants, and bars. It will also boast an aqua club and golf course.

CCL was engaged to provide a post-tensioning design solution. For the tower, this involved 32,000 m2 of post-tensioned slabs.

In addition to the post-tensioned elevated slabs, the CCL team also designed post-tensioned beams for the podium area around the tower’s perimeter. The beams are 21 metres long and provide support to an elevated external landscaped section. In total CCL provided 41,000 m2 of post-tensioning in both the tower and podium.

CCL not only designed the post-tensioning solution and supplied the systems but also carried out training and supervision of the installation.

The use of post-tensioning at Olympic Resort resulted in cost savings because of the reduced quantities of materials required and because it facilitated a fast-track construction
schedule.
