Derviche Haddad PPB Structures (DHPPB) was asked to build the first factory in the Middle East specifically dedicated to the production of Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC).

The factory was designed as a steel structure with 1,100 m2 of post-tensioned slab on grade. DHPPB brought in its specialist Surface division to engineer a flooring solution suitable for a very aggressive environment and harsh chemical spillages.

There was the requirement for the floor slab to include a gradient to allow for drainage. The specification also stipulated it must be dustproof and abrasion-resistant to ensure optimum productivity for the facility.

CCL’s Surface division successfully executed the slab on grade, achieving a seamless, jointless, and superflat floor with an aesthetic finish which is resistant to UHPC spillages. A very high gloss factor of 73 was attained.
