CCL was called upon to provide a value engineering solution for the floor of a warehouse in the village of Mar Roukoz in the Matn district of Lebanon, east of Beirut.
The warehouse itself is 205 metres long and 33 metres wide and is used for product storage.
The original specification was for traditional reinforced concrete slab on grade. CCL value engineered the slab, converting it to a post-tensioned installation. This resulted in a flat, crack-free ground slab with the minimum number of construction/expansion joints.
Concreting of the slab was carried out in five pours, each of which was 41 metres long by 33 metres wide.
