Located in Sweden, Våghuset is a striking 13-storey office building covering 10,000 m². CCL were tasked with addressing the problem of lateral forces on the structure, while ensuring speed and quality during construction. CCL provided cable assembly, stressing and grouting for the project.
CHALLENGE
CCL were brought in to provide a solution that enabled the structure to withstand horizontal loads. Communication lapses led to delays during the injection phase of the post-tensioning process which required CCL to schedule unexpected on-site visits. The flexible scheduling and logistical adjustments ultimately strengthened collaboration and project resilience.
SOLUTION
CCL implemented its vertical post-tensioning system that included a combination of specialised tendons: 16 pcs XV-40, 8 pcs XM-35, 8 pcs XM-30, and 8 of CCL’s 9L15 tendons. A total of 5.3 tonnes of strand were used on the project. CCL’s system provided effective resistance to horizontal loads and enhanced the buildings structural stability.
