HIST (University of Trondheim, Teknologibygget), Trondheim
The new technology buildings at Trondheim University are part of a plan to centralise science, technology, and teacher training on one site. The project consisted of a 4-storey structure and a 6-storey structure, each with two basement levels. CCL’s post-tensioning solution reduced construction time and resulted in significant financial savings. Slab thickness was reduced from 265 mm to 230 mm, maximising floor-to-ceiling height and reducing the overall height of the structure to meet the requirements of local building regulations.
