CCL USA achieved DIAMOND standard in the Associated Builders and Contractor’s STEP Safety Management System.
Founded in 1989, STEP participation demonstrates safety leadership and a cultural commitment to safety performance.
STEP applicants measure their safety processes and policies on 25 key components through a detailed questionnaire with the goal of implementing or enhancing safety programs that reduce jobsite incidents.
The company was able to achieve this outstanding level in safety performance through a shift in culture that began on the jobsite with our most precious commodity, our workers.
The key safety priorities that led to this success are monthly safety meetings to ensure accountability; random safety inspections from a third- party consultant, SEE Inc.; and field crews dedicated to converting recordables to incidents by looking out for each other and frequent reporting so safety training can be customised on an ongoing basis.
