The ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has a high post-cracking tensile strength and exhibits ductile behaviour under tension. Reinforced with fibers (steel, stainless or organic), UHPC can be used without the addition of ordinary concrete reinforcement.
The high strength and ductility of UHPC means that the most intricate architectural designs are possible. Large openings and ultra-thin concrete elements can be facilitated. UHPC is extremely lightweight and can support its own self-weight, which means minimal fixings are required, and large cantilevers can be achieved.
