Site Engineer

Based in West Africa, the Site Engineer will oversee the construction progress of projects (including post-tensioning) in terms of schedule, quality, safety and budget, ensuring strict compliance with the shop drawings.


  • Analyse shop drawings and raise any issue that does not comply with site conditions
  • Attend kick-off meetings with main contractors and explain construction sequence and issues related to the project
  • Prepare fabrication and cutting lists for allocated projects and submit them to the preparation team
  • Handle labour distribution and provision of material and equipment on site
  • Organise execution of stressing after approval by the contractor and the consultant
  • Assess stressing results before sending to clients and consultants and complete stressing records
  • Organise grouting of stressed slabs and send the grouting checklist to appropriate individuals
  • Coordinate between post-tensioning works and other activities on site (formwork, reinforcement, electrical, plumbing etc.)
  • Handle preparation of site inspections and casting release sheets needed for projects
  • Ensure good working condition of the company’s materials on site
  • Implement project safety plans and safety guidelines
  • Ensure implementation of the latest shop drawings
  • Prepare all instruction letters to clients including letters related to non-conforming works, progress etc. and maintain logs of these documents
  • Issue detailed construction reports and monthly construction progress reports summarising all major events affecting progress and quality for allocated projects

Essential Requirements

  • Fluent French (written and spoken)
  • Civil Engineering Degree
  • Minimum one year’s site experience, preferably in Africa
