CCL installs ‘Surface’ at Lebanon’s Tower FortyFour
CCL has begun to install its innovative jointless flooring system, ‘Surface’ for the three basement levels of Lebanon’s second tallest building, Tower FortyFour. The company is also designing and installing CCL post-tensioned concrete slabs for the remaining storeys of this new $100 million tower.
Located in the Sin el Fil district of Beirut, the building will combine retail space, residential and office accommodation.
The original specification for the parking areas of the three basement levels was for a screed plus epoxy coating. However, CCL suggested using its Surface jointless flooring system which could reduce the original cost by as much as 20 per cent. It will also reduce the applied loads on the slabs and increase floor to soffit height. The use of Surface will also save time on site as it will avoid installation and curing time for the screed.
CCL will return to site during the final fix stages to polish the slabs, creating a high shine finish with no curing requirements.
